An important part of this is water purification, which means removing unwanted contaminants and micro-organisms. This process covers several stages, ranging from settlement and filtration to chemical and biological treatment, or combinations of these.

We install drains, water purification plants and so-called IBA systems (Individuele Behandeling Afvalwater, Individual Waste Water Treatment systems), whereby the person discharging the waste is personally responsible for purifying his waste water. We produce structural and hydraulic calculations for the design of the concrete settling and treatment basins. And we build complete purification plants, from ground works through to turnkey completion.
Purification plants are complex, computer-controlled structures brimming with technology, pumping stations, grills, filters and pipes. An important part is the various purification basins. They have diameters from 30 to 60 metres and relatively thin walls. Building these is not difficult but demands great accuracy and specialist know-how. This is due to the exact round shape combined with the off-sizes and is also due to the aggressive action of the contaminated water. The inside of the tanks therefore have a synthetic coating applied in order to protect the concrete. The builders of purification basins are also called the ‘cabinet makers’ in the concrete sector.
