Innovation
There is more and more room in the Dutch market for innovation: creative concepts, inventive solutions for cleverer use of the room available and improved utilisation of raw materials. Ballast Nedam is actively improving innovation in all respects, for example, the optimisation of the various procedural steps in construction or more efficient use of material.
An example of innovative spatial use is Ballast Nedam’s modular parking system, a multistorey car park that can be disassembled, made from sustainable materials. Each component can be reused and the car park can be extended easily. The floor and column systems developed enable a large free-supporting span and offer sustainability, logistical advantages and a quicker construction time.

- Utilisation of raw materials
Ballast Nedam is a leading party in the re-use of waste during construction projects.
- supply chain innovation
Our subsidiary, Haitsma, has invested in a unique production hall in which prefabricated concrete units can be produced, such as large concrete girders for spans over motorways without intermediary support points.
- Production improvement
If road transport fails, we also have extensive facilities for transporting goods by water. The result: more possibilities, reduced hindrance and a competitive advantage. |
