Land bank and development potential

Room for the future: new locations and properties
Ballast Nedam is continuously expanding its development potential. We buy properties that are suitable for new developments, we buy land for new building sites. We also strengthen our position at the beginning of the ‘chain' in this way: we play a stronger, initiating role in project development. The turnover from our own developments has been increasing over the past few years too. It accounted for 30 percent of the construction and development turnover in 2006, whilst in 2004, the turnover from our developments amounted to 20 percent.

Land Bank
The expanding Land Bank of Ballast contains a mixture of proprietary sites, with purchase obligation, share purchase warrants and construction rights. The housing market will continue to offer good prospects for Ballast Nedam in the coming years. The development potential of its land bank increased by over 3,300 to a total of 14,300 homes.

In total, we possess 753 hectares: a development potential of more than 14,300 houses, 350,000 m2 of office space and 150,000 m2 for other commercial buildings.
