Ballast Nedam Bouw Profile
Ballast Nedam Bouw [Building] has all of the specialisms needed to successfully perform any construction process, from housing to hospitals and from renovations to new builds. We offer integrated services on both a regional and national level. Our company is made up of nine regional construction firms and one nationally operating company: Speciale Projecten [Special Projects]. Our regional firms are active in the construction of housing, commercial and industrial buildings, plan development and small-scale project development. 
Regional and national expertise
Ballast Nedam Bouw is characterized by its decentralized structure: the regional firms have a strong individual responsibility and an individual profile, but they collectively profit from the communal facilities and shared expertise in the form of the central divisions, Bouwtechniek [Construction engineering] and Research and Development.
The national division, Ballast Nedam Bouw Speciale Projecten, specializes in the (technical) development, preparation and implementation of large and complex projects with a high risk profile. These involve utilitarian projects and (high-rise) housing projects that have a total building cost of over € 17.5 million.
Sustainable management and materials
Wood is an important material in construction. Ballast Nedam has signed a contract with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) only to use wood that is produced through responsible forest management. In this contract Ballast Nedam states that only FSC-certified wood will be used in projects that we develop within the next five years. Within the next three years, 10 percent of the wood used in projects for third parties will be FSC-certified.
