The maintenance carried out by Ballast Nedam Road Specialties on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat on the A12 and the A15, has been completed. The Major Maintenance on the A12 will ensure a better flow. The maintenance work on the A15 has ensured a modification on the route, so that the maximum speed can go up to 130 km / h. The project consisted of 2 periods, one road closure of ten days last summer on the A12 and weekend closures on three routes on the A15 in October and November.
Thanks to the thorough preparation and continuous coordination with Rijkswaterstaat and the regional partners (300 organizations), the nuisance has been kept to a minimum.
Erik Lammerts, site manager Ballast Nedam Road Specialties: "I am proud that together we completed the project successfully. It was a complex project in which many disciplines were working simultaneously. And all within a very short time. All specialisms ran, so to speak, in shifts. One after another."
Ballast Nedam Road Specialties is a one-stop shop for all specialties, related to roads. And that came in handy during these maintenance activities. Because Road Specialties works as one, the different activities could be well coordinated. As a result, the work could be completed within the tight schedule. During the ten-day road closure during the summer period, the road could be reopened two days earlier than planned.
Here you can view the work during the summer period in which the A12 between the Waterberg and Grijsoord junctions was closed for ten days. Unfortunately the video is only available in Dutch.
