Design the Sustainable Future Competition

Due to the COVID-19 virus, we find ourselves in a situation that is unprecedented. Ballast Nedam is in close consultation with its customers, stakeholders and employees to ensure that work on our projects takes place as safely as possible. We would like to inform you about the measures taken, in which the health and safety of our people and our society are key priority.
Ballast Nedam's policy is based on the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Based on these recommendations, Safety Alerts have been drawn up to communicate our policy as clear as possible to our employees. In addition, the guidelines and our policy have been translated into posters and banners for our project locations.
In order to continue our business operations and projects as safely as possible, Ballast Nedam decided that wherever possible (and after line management approval) all employees should work from home until April 6, 2020. Various measures have been taken at project locations regarding hygiene regulations. Besides that, guidelines have been drawn up with regard to social distancing of 1.5 meters. We manage this by having our employees and the employees of our subcontractors work and eat in small groups. The aim is to delete the contamination risk.
Together we are stronger in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. At the moment, there is a great shortage of facial masks in healthcare, especially type FFP2. Ballast Nedam requests to all its employees to donate spare construction masks to hospitals.
