The builders of Limburg

Laudy is at the heart of society

Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling

One of our organisational units

Ballast Nedam consists of 18 organisational units, including Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling (Laudy). As a 170-year old Limburg construction company, Laudy is specialised in the development, construction, maintenance and restoration of high-quality property and is active in residential construction, non-residential construction and industry. They also provide all common structural maintenance work.

The ambition is to continue growing and remain a reliable partner that can serve many customers to their complete satisfaction. Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling works from the conviction that it is at the centre of society and, as such, provides the best possible service to clients. This means that the client can be completely relieved of all worries during the entire process, from start to finish.

Family business

The culture within Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling resembles a family business. The colleagues take care of each other and spend time and energy on personal development.

At Laudy, they work with a large group their own of professionals. This gives the organisation a good mix of own and hired employees on the construction site. The large percentage of own employees ensures a high level of involvement and high quality of the work delivered.

Five elements

Just like the Nutrition Centre's 'Wheel of Five', Laudy stays healthy by paying sufficient attention to all five elements every day. A healthy company in a healthy condition.

In addition to the employees, Laudy has four other components that complete its own 'Wheel of Five'—Relationships, Society, Innovation & Sustainability and Safety & Quality. These themes can be found in every project and serve as internal building blocks.

Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling wants to implement innovations in every project and thus be ahead of the market. For example, Laudy embraces innovative organisational forms such as LEAN, in which improvements are continually monitored. Laudy also wants to push the boundaries of sustainability in every project. However, the client also plays a major role in this, so the focus is mainly on advising and managing. An example of innovation in the field of sustainability is the use of electric vehicles and hybrid buses.
Society is also a major focus. Laudy supports many charities, and customers are also challenged to get involved. Examples are participation in the NLdoet volunteer campaign and the sponsoring of the Ronald McDonald House in Maastricht. They are sometimes small initiatives that make a big difference.

Creating a safe workplace is of high importance, as we want every employee to return home safely every day. A safety coach is employed full-time to ensure this. This person helps Laudy employees create awareness and improve safety aspects.

Regarding further digitalisation, Veugelers explains that "Snag-stream is a software we use to make recordings. We use it to show the progress of the construction site. This way of working helps us manage the project. We also use demolition robots: robots that can demolish for us. Handy and very effective."

Laudy's little sister

Laudy is continuously growing. On 15 January 2021, Laudy announced that it had started its own property development organisation, Laudy Vastgoedontwikkeling. The new organisation is an ambitious property developer that realises new-build and transformation projects throughout Limburg.

Specialisms

Laudy has an array of expertise, of which industrial service is one example. A permanent team of specialised employees performs maintenance activities and works on projects at an industrial location. Then there is restoration, a completely different expertise. Restoration is a profession in its own right, a profession that Laudy has more than mastered. The team of experts consists of restoration specialists such as carpenters, marl and natural stone workers, restoration bricklayers and restoration plasterers.

Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling restores churches, castles, fortifications, farms, factory buildings, and watermills using traditional craftsmanship. Our specialist teams work with their own employees as much as possible. This way, knowledge is retained within the organisation, and we can guarantee high-quality work.
