The character of Ballast Nedam Infra Projects
"We develop and carry out projects with passion,” says Managing Director Ronald de Geus. “How we do this is in line with our values and who we are. The project must have sufficient opportunities and challenges in which we can create added value for the client and its stakeholders."
We work with an integral approach. We have demonstrated this in large, complex projects such as the A24 Blankenburgverbinding and the A9 Gaasperdammerweg. We have developed these innovations into our expertises, thereby ensuring that our people can also make a difference in future projects. We have people in-house who can think along from A to Z and relate to the client to find the right solution.

Crossing borders to the Nordics
Research and recent experience have shown that the market has many similarities with the Dutch market. The infrastructure market in Scandinavia is fast-growing and the tendering procedure is becoming more and more comparable with the Dutch approach.
Infra Projects is now sharing its knowledge and experience in the Nordics. This combination provides added value in terms of design, approach, innovation, sustainability and safety. With the current Dutch approach, which calls for a total solution whereby the contractor is also responsible for the design, realisation and added value for the customer, Ballast Nedam Infra Projects can make a difference in Scandinavia.
Eye for sustainability and digitalisation
Ballast Nedam Infra Projects is also engaged in major digitalisation efforts. For example, for the A24 Blankenburgverbinding, they invested in full 3D modelling of temporary situations and final situations, Virtual Reality, 4D planning and capturing on-site by drones and laser scanners. By giving digitalisation a prominent role in the realisation of this project, they managed to improve systems and cooperation. For this unique BIM4Project approach, they received the GEOBIM2020 award. Thanks to the critical view, Ballast Nedam Infra Projects can continue controlling and improving its working processes.
Infra disciplines for now and in the future
Infra Projects also has a strong focus on project control—controlling the entire chain and ensuring proper alignment with partners and the environment. They want to monitor every step of the process. In recent years there has been a strong focus on the technical office. This includes procurement, planning, cost control and risk management. By providing insight into these results, they set out actions for the future to manage risks even better.
