Our people make Ballast Nedam
With their expertise, knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit, our people bring plans to life. Together, we create the living environment of tomorrow. That's why we put our people first, giving everyone the space to work safely and healthily, develop their potential, and have their voice heard.
Get home safely and in good health
Safety is always our top priority at Ballast Nedam. Through our ‘Take Care’ safety programme, we are building a culture in which we look out for one another. We take responsibility, hold each other to account and share what we learn from incidents and experiences. In this way, we work together to ensure that everyone returns home safe and healthy after work.
Fit and enjoying your work
Being able to work well starts with feeling well. That is why we invest in physical and mental health. Through initiatives focused on wellbeing, we help colleagues to lead a healthy lifestyle, enjoy their work and achieve a good work-life balance. In doing so, we focus primarily on what people need to continue doing their work happily and in a healthy way.
A space to learn and grow
At Ballast Nedam, you learn by exploring and grow by doing. We give our staff the freedom to take the initiative, take on responsibility and develop. Through training, new challenges and knowledge-sharing, both our people and our organisation grow.
A workplace where your voice is heard
We believe it is important that our employees have a say in and contribute to discussions on matters that affect them. At Ballast Nedam, these interests are represented by a number of works councils and consultation bodies. One representative from each council sits on the Central Works Council (COR).
The COR acts as the link between our employees and the Executive Board, contributing to discussions on topics such as health and safety, working conditions, sustainable employability and strategic developments. To fulfil this role, the COR has a range of statutory rights, including the right of consent and the right to be consulted. This helps ensure that the views of our colleagues are taken into account when important decisions are made. Employees represented by the COR can also put forward topics for inclusion on its agenda.
