BAAK receives Completion Certificate for the Blankenburgverbinding
Together with Rijkswaterstaat, the shareholders HICL and BBGI, the construction partner DEME, and our partners within BAAK, we have been working on the realization of the Blankenburgverbinding over the past several years. With the receipt of the Completion Certificate, the construction phase of this project has officially been completed in accordance with the contractual milestones.
Since construction began in 2018, we have worked closely with our partners to create a new connection that improves accessibility to the Rotterdam region. The project includes the construction of the A24, the Maasdelta Tunnel and the Holland Tunnel.
The Blankenburgverbinding serves as a key link between the A20 and the A15 and helps improve traffic flow to and from the Port of Rotterdam. Since its opening in 2024, road users have been using the Blankenburgverbinding every day, and we have been managing the tunnels’ assets through the BAAK consortium.
For Ballast Nedam, the Completion Certificate marks not only the completion of a complex infrastructure project but also the result of years of craftsmanship, innovation, and collaboration. Hundreds of professionals contributed their expertise throughout the various project phases to make this connection a reality.
We are proud of the contribution we have made, together with our partners, to the realization of the Blankenburgverbinding. This milestone is a joint achievement of all the organizations and employees involved who have dedicated themselves to this special project over the past few years.
