Ballast Nedam will rehabilitate quay wall in the port of Castries (Saint Lucia)

On June 25, Ballast Nedam signed the contract with The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority during a festive ceremony.

The existing berth #4 is outdated and will be renovated and modernized as part of this project. As a result, the project will contribute to more efficient and future-proof handling of cargo and cruise vessels in the Port of Castries. As the port plays a crucial role in Saint Lucia’s economy and the supply of goods to the island, this project is also of significant social and economic importance.

The project includes the design and construction of the quay, including the demolition of the current structure, the installation of new elements, and the construction of foundations and marine furniture. A major challenge is ensuring that the port facilities remain operational during construction.

Completion is scheduled for October 2027. We are grateful for The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority trust in Ballast Nedam to carry out this infrastructure project, which is so important to Saint Lucia. With this project, we are also further strengthening our position in the Caribbean.
