MIX Amsterdam

A colourful mix of living, working and high-profile facilities

MIX Amsterdam

At Osdorpplein in the heart of Amsterdam New West, Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling is building the MIX Amsterdam project for MRP. This project is located next to De Os, also known as The Hub, which was recently handed over to MRP. The design for MIX Amsterdam was created by De Architecten Cie.

  • 528 appartments
  • 360 extra parking places
  • 400 bicycle parking spaces

From city office to residential space

MIX Amsterdam will occupy the site of the old city office. Construction work will start in the second quarter of 2023 for the project consisting of 528 homes with a communal courtyard garden, a public bicycle shed with space for over 400 bikes and 383 new parking spaces as an addition to the Don Bosco car park. 162 of the 528 rental homes are intended for the social sector.

Housing and living
in the MIX

The ground floor will house shops, offices and the arts and culture centre the Verhalenhuis. The Verhalenhuis is a collaboration between the Amsterdam Public Library, El Hizjra (centre for Arabic art and culture), radio station FunX and film house Oxville. The Verhalenhuis will have a broad and active programme for the neighbourhood and will be an open and accessible meeting place.

A challenge within area development

As for project De Os, given its location, the new construction project MIX Amsterdam poses one of the biggest challenges within the area development at Osdorpplein. Osdorpplein is a busy part of Amsterdam Nieuw-West and there are many target groups to consider: from business owners to transporters and from local residents to visitors.

A new icon

The experience gained at De Os will be applied in the realisation of MIX Amsterdam. According to Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling, it is an honour to realise this follow-up project, creating a new icon for this growing, largest city district of Amsterdam.
