Tuindershof
The Tuindershof district is a new place-to-be in Pijnacker, where you can take a walk among the greenery along the pond in the heart of the district. Where the children go on adventures on their island, which is accessible via a pull raft. Or where they ride their scooters through the car-free streets just before dinner. In short: a village atmosphere with a modern twist, close to the center of Pijnacker. It is a small-scale and child-friendly neighborhood.

Apartments
In Tuindershof Ballast Nedam West has built 64 modular apartments for Rondom Wonen. The project consists of two four-storey buildings connected by a common gallery. The houses, which differ in 2- and 3-room apartments, are gas-free and have a heat pump that is supplied by district heating.
Modular construction
The apartments are composed of two modules and were produced in the factory of Ursem Modulaire Bouwsystemen, part of Ballast Nedam. They were then transported to the project location, after which they were quickly stacked and connected into full-fledged homes. The modules are fully equipped with sanitary facilities and installations, which reduces logistical movements on and around the construction site.
Modular construction is a sustainable and cost-effective construction technique in which the modules are produced ready-made in the factory and then quickly and easily assembled on location. This method uses prefab modular elements that can be produced and installed in a cost-efficient manner.
The design of the 64 modular rental homes was made by Ballast Nedam West, architectural firm Rudy Uytenhaak + Partners Architects, Ursem Modular Building Systems, Schouten Techniek, Pieters Bouwtechniek and Healthy Buildings.
