Combination of sustainable systems

Two brand new facilities with 218 and 249 student residences respectively, form the second part of Yours campus on the Leidse Schans. In 2015 the over 600 houses of the first part of the campus, were already taken into use. The new student residences on the campus are highly sustainable and ready for the energy transition. Just like the previously built student complexes, the two latest buildings are completely gas-free and extra insulated. Heating and hot tap water are supplied by a combination of a heat pump boiler, a ventilation system with heat recovery (WTW) and numerous solar panels on the roofs. The campus thus meets the sustainability requirements set by the municipality of Leiden

Nice place to live

The houses themselves are mainly spacious studios with their own facilities. The YOURS campus, designed by Mecanoo Architects, is a great place to live for many hundreds of Leiden students, a mere six-minute bike ride from the historic centre and with a train station (Lammenschans) within walking distance.
