Industrial renewals

Offering industrial transitions

Our collective challenge

The industrial sector must be climate neutral by 2050, we aim to be climate neutral by 2030. The industrial sector faces a crucial challenge to make its activities more sustainable to be able to reduce their impact on the climate. In response, governments have taken measures to encourage companies to invest in sustainability. Subsidies and new laws and regulations make it easier for companies to invest in renewable energy. The focus shifts from a fossil energy-intensive industry to a renewable industry. Partly due to our extensive experience, we can make a significant contribution to this.

Accelerating the transition to renewable resources

At Ballast Nedam, innovation meets sustainability in the realm of industrial development. With a commitment to environmental responsibility and cutting-edge practices, we have a transformative approach to industrial renewals. We recognize the pressing need for a paradigm shift in the way industries operate. Our solutions are tailored to meet the evolving demands of a world that seeks to balance progress with environmental care. We can help with the transition to a more sustainable industrial sector by seamlessly integrating sustainable technologies and practices into construction. In this way, we contribute to a healthier planet for future generations. Together we make the impossible possible within the oil, gas, energy and (petro)chemical industrial construction.

Mexicostraat hydrogen station

Hydrogen station Mexicostraat, is a multifunctional station where passenger cars, buses, trucks and boats can refuel with hydrogen.

Hydrogen is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. By building hydrogen stations we contribute to the energy transition. We find this very important. Ballast Nedam Industriebouw carried out all architectural and civil work for hydrogen station Mexicostraat in Antwerp. From the cable ducts to the foundations and from the shop building to the construction of the canopy.

The transition

The industry is constantly evolving. A transition is needed from fossil fuels to sustainable alternatives. We are aware of this and take our responsibility. We have already made progress on several cases. For example, we contributed to the realisation of a plastic recycling factory, converted gas furnaces to electric furnaces and a new biomass plant.

Heinenoord hydrogen station

Heinenoord hydrogen station is a hydrogen filling station especially for buses.

We believe it is important to contribute to the energy transition. That is why we would like to use our knowledge and experience for the construction of hydrogen stations such as in Heinenoord. Ballast Nedam Industriebouw carried out all construction work for the Heinenoord hydrogen station. From piling and earthwork to steel construction and electrical work for the station. This meant we completely relieved our client by providing a turn-key solution.
