Together with Heitkamp Ingenieur und Kraftwerksbau GmbH (also part of the Rönesans Holding), we are constructing Siemens AG’s new (LEED Gold) nacelle factory. We have also taken on responsibility for the design process. The factory will be completed in a record time of eleven months.

Large numbers

This is a project on a huge scale, covering an area of about 55,000 m², the equivalent of nine football fields. The final assembly of generators, hubs and nacelle back-ends will be carried out here. Together, these elements make up a complete nacelle, the heart of an offshore wind turbine. We are building a 30 metre high production hall, as well as a two-storey building with an area of around 3,800 m², which will house offices and a canteen.

A construction record

The factory will be completed in just eleven months – a record time. To accomplish this, we must work with impressive speed. Production of the seven-megawatt offshore wind turbines will get under way in the summer of 2017. Building at this speed is only possible thanks to the close working relationship between Siemens Real Estate, Siemens Wind Power, Architect Brüning Rein and us (Ballast Nedam and Heitkamp Ingenieur und Kraftwerksbau GmbH).
