Ballast Nedam acquires Avenue Building Company and expands its international activities

This acquisition is in line with Ballast Nedam's strategy which revolves around financial health and global growth. With this acquisition, Ballast Nedam can further develop internationally and focus on specific product-market combinations. ABC's specialism within healthcare is part of this.

The starting point within this acquisition is that ABC will continue to operate as an independent organisation under its own name.

Valuable addition

Ballast Nedam has already established a portfolio in this area with the construction of the new hospital in Curaçao in 2020 and the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam in 2017. ABC has years of knowledge and experience in carrying out specialist work, such as fitting out medical treatment rooms where high-quality equipment is placed. The acquisition is therefore a logical step that fits within Ballast Nedam's growth strategy. This acquisition of ABC will strengthen and expand its UK operations, following its acquisition of Stripe Consulting Ltd. in 2019.
